From 2012 to 2024: List of all Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) winners
Dhaka Gladiators won the first edition of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) in 2012.
Bangladesh Premier League is a T20 league based in Bangladesh. Seven different franchises take part in the BPL. This league was started in 2012 when most of the cricketing boards were looking to host T20 leagues like IPL in their country. Durdanto Dhaka, Comilla Victorians, Chattogram Challengers, Fortune Barishal, Khulna Tigers, Rangpur Riders, and Sylhet Strikers are part of the BPL setup.
Bangladesh Premier League was not held in 2014 due to the political crisis in the country and then for two years in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid-19 related restrictions. Comilla Victorians and Dhaka are the two of the most successful franchises in the tournament. Let’s have a look at the list of all Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) winners.

1. BPL 2012 – Dhaka Gladiators
Dhaka Gladiators won the inaugural edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) in 2012. Mashrafe Mortaza-led Dhaka side defeated Barisal Burners in the final played at Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Mirpur by eight wickets to win the first ever BPL title. Dhaka are one of the most successful units in the BPL setup and have won the title on many occasions. Dhaka opener Imran Nazir won Player of the Match award in the final for his 75-run knock.
2. BPL 2013 – Dhaka Gladiators
After winning the inaugural edition in 2012, Dhaka Gladiators replicated the performance another time in the second edition as well clinching the trophy. Dhaka defeated Chittagong Kings in the final by 43 runs to lift the BPL 2013 trophy. Batting first, Dhaka posted a total of 172 and then restricted Chittagong for 129 to win the title clash. Dhaka’s Mosharraf Hossain was named Player of the Match in final for his sensational spell of 3/26.
3. BPL 2015 – Comilla Victorians
Due to political cricis in the country, the third edition of the BPL couldn’t take place in 2014, so the edition took part in 2015. Comilla Victorians defeated Barisal Bulls by 3 wickets in the title clash in Mirpur to lift their first ever BPL title. The former Bangladesh captain, Mashrafe Mortaza, who won two titles in the first two editions, moved to Comilla Victorians before BPL 2015, and won his third consecutive BPL title.
4. BPL 2016 – Dhaka Dynamites
After the second edition in 2013, Dhaka Gladiators franchise was dissolved and then rebranded as Dhaka Dynamites, who played in the next edition in 2015. In BPL 2016, Dhaka-based franchise won its third title. Dhaka Dynamites defeated Rajshahi Kings in a one-sided final played in Mirpur. In the title clash of 2016 season, Dhaka batting first, posted a total of 159/9 on the board, and later bowled out Rajshahi Kings for 103 to win the game by 56 runs and lift their third title.
This was Shakib Al Hasan’s maiden BPL title as captain.
5. BPL 2017 – Rangpur Riders
In the fifth edition of the tournament, Rangpur Riders won their first ever BPL title. This is Rangpur Riders’ first and only title win. Rangpur defeated three-time champions Dhaka Dynamites in the final by 57 runs in the title clash in Mirpur. Batting first, Rangpur put 206 on the board with help of an unbeaten 146 from Chris Gayle and then restricted Dhaka for 149/9.
6. BPL 2018: Comilla Victorians
Comilla Victorians won their second BPL title in the sixth season of the tournament in 2018. Imrul Kayes-led Comilla Victorians defeated Dhaka Dynamites by 17 runs in the final played in Mirpur. Comilla opener Tamim Iqbal smashed a century in the final and won the Player of the Match award in the final for his magnificent 141 runs in 61 balls. Tamim smashed 10 fours and 11 sixes.
7. BPL 2019 – Rajshahi Royals
In the seventh edition of the BPL, West Indies all-rounder captained Rajshahi Royals to BPL title win in 2019/20. Andre Russell played a magnificent role for Royals in the entire season and won Player of the Match award in final as well as Player of the Tournament award. Royals defeated Khulna Tigers by 21 runs in the title clash to lift their first ever BPL championship.
8. BPL 2022 – Comilla Victorians
After the league was not played in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid-19, it returned in 2022 and with a cracker of a final. BPL 2022 final was decided by barest of the margins as Comilla Victorians defeated Fortune Barishal by one run in the title clash. Batting first, Comilla posted 151 on the board with help of Sunil Narine’s quick-fire 23-ball 57. In the second innings, Sunil Narine again performed like a gem for Comilla and bowled a spell of 2/15 to help his team restrict the opponents for 150/8 to win the game by just one run.
Narine was named Player of the Match in final for his stellar show with both bat and ball.
9. BPL 2023 – Comilla Victorians
Comilla Victorians became the most successful side in the Bangladesh Premier League with their fourth BPL title win in 2023. Comilla Victorians defeated Sylhet Strikers in the final played by seven wickets in Mirpur. After winning the toss and inviting Sylhet Strikers to bat first, Comilla restricted Sylhet for 175/7. Comilla chased down 176 in 19.2 overs to lift their fourth BPL title.
Johnson Charles was named Player of the Match in final for his 52-ball 79, which included seven boundaries and five sixes.
10. BPL 2024 – Fortune Barishal
Comilla Victorians couldn’t complete a hat-trick of BPL titles as they were crushed by Fortune Barishal in the finals of Bangladesh Premier League 2024. Fortune Barishal won the tenth season of the BPL after defeating defending champions Comilla Victorians in the title clash by 6 wickets.
On course, Barishal won their first ever BPL title and became overall fifth team to win the BPL.
