List of all players who scored century in both innings of a Test match

Scoring a century in Test cricket is one of the most defining achievements for any batter. While doing it once requires a high amount of concentration and reliable technique, scoring it twice under the ever-evolving standards of Test cricket is a massive achievement in itself. 

This feat, known as a ‘twin century’ (scoring two centuries in both innings of a match), has been achieved by only a few professional cricketers in over a century.

The first player to accomplish it was Australia’s Warren Bardsley in 1909. As of August 2026, Sri Lankan batter Sonal Dinusha became the 83rd player to achieve this feat. 

Interestingly, the achievement has become common in recent years, but it remains one of Test cricket’s most exclusive milestones. Players from India, Australia, England, the West Indies, and many other Test-playing nations have played such magnificent innings. 

Gavaskar, Ponting and Warner lead the elite list 

Three batters stand above the rest for consistency and have achieved twin centuries more than anyone on this list. Sunil Gavaskar, Ricky Ponting and David Warner have each scored twin centuries multiple times in their careers. Twelve other players have achieved this twice. 

Graham Gooch owns the highest aggregate in a Test match while producing twin centuries. He scored a total of 456 runs across two innings, comprising scores of 333 and 123.
