Ambati Rayudu shares his IPL journey with Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings

Ambati Rayudu has been part of the two most successful Indian Premier League franchises in his career and ended up with glory on several occasions. Rayudu joined Mumbai Indians in IPL 2010 and then shifted his base to another successful side Chennai Super Kings. Ambati Rayudu was part of 6 IPL winning campaigns and he is the only player to do so. He ended his IPL career with the title along with CSK in IPL 2023.
Former Indian batter Ambati Rayudu has expressed gratitude to two of the most successful IPL franchises Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Rayudu credited Mumbai Indians for shaping up his career. Ambati Rayudu was part of Mumbai Indians camp for 8 years and ended his association with the franchise in 2018 to join Chennai Super Kings. Rayudu in a candid YouTube podcast shared his Indian Premier League experience.

Ambati Rayudu expressed gratitude towards his first IPL franchise and said, “I would remember myself as being very flexible in a team environment. I would bat open as well as in the middle order and lower middle order. That is one area where I take a lot of pride in, contributing to the team, and I cherish that aspect a lot in my career.” Rayudu was Mumbai Indians’ crucial member in the middle-order and won several games for the franchise.
Ambati Rayudu also expressed that he had 8 great years with Mumbai Indians. Rayudu added, “I played eight years for them. I started my IPL career with Mumbai. It was a great journey, and we won three IPLs and two Champions League trophies. We had great times,” Rayudu left Mumbai Indians camp after IPL 2017 and joined Chennai Super Kings in 2018. He announced his retirement after the title win in IPL 2023.

He expressed that going to CSK was more special for him. Rayudu said, “Going to CSK was even more special, but it was very weird to sit in another dressing room, put on yellow pads instead of blue, and face Mumbai, who was practicing just two wickets away from me. It was like a whole flashback going on in my head, recalling what we used to do every day. From then on, yeah, I got used to being in CSK.” Rayudu played 55 ODIs and 6 T20I games for India.
