BAD NEWS FOR KKR! Angkrish Raghuvanshi RULED OUT of IPL 2026 due to THIS reason

Angkrish Raghuvanshi sustained finger injury in KKR’s last game.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) entered Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 carrying enormous expectations, and one player who consistently justified that faith was 21-year-old Angkrish Raghuvanshi.
He scored 422 runs across 13 matches at an average of 42.20 and a strike rate of 146, including five half-centuries. These numbers kept him right at the top of KKR‘s run-scoring charts.
Few batters in the tournament matched composure with aggression so consistently during the league stage, and one among them was Raghuvanshi.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi ruled out of IPL 2026 with finger injury

During the game against Mumbai Indians at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Raghuvanshi collided with teammate while fielding, leaving him with dizziness, headaches, and neck discomfort, and KKR brought on Tejasvi Dahiya as his substitute. That was bad enough, but things got worse when a separate finger injury, sustained in the same game, proved far more serious than initially feared.
The finger injury alone could keep him sidelined for as long as three months. Between the concussion protocols and this physical setback, his IPL 2026 campaign is effectively over.
Per ICC concussion protocols, a diagnosed player has to clear a mandatory seven-day recovery period before returning to competitive cricket, ruling him out of KKR’s crucial clash against Delhi Capitals at Eden Gardens on 24 May.
With Raghuvanshi out, KKR have zero room for error as they head into their final league match against Delhi Capitals at Eden Gardens on May 24. Sitting on 13 points from 13 games, KKR’s playoff hopes are hanging by a thread. While a solid net run rate of +0.011 keeps them ahead of Delhi, simply winning their final home game won’t guarantee a top-four finish.
The three-time champions find themselves in a chaotic scramble for the solitary remaining playoff spot, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Gujarat Titans, and Sunrisers Hyderabad already locking up the top three berths.
To sneak through, KKR must beat Delhi and pray that Rajasthan Royals slip up against Mumbai Indians. If Rajasthan drops points and Punjab Kings also stumble in their final fixture, a victory at Eden Gardens will miraculously seal KKR’s playoffs ticket.
What injury did Angkrish Raghuvanshi sustain during IPL 2026?
He suffered a concussion following a field collision with teammate, alongside a separate, severe finger injury that requires up to three months of recovery.
Will Raghuvanshi remain with the Kolkata Knight Riders squad for the rest of the season?
Yes, despite being ruled out of match action, he will continue to travel with the team until the end of their campaign.
