Annabel Sutherland dethrones Deepti Sharma to become No. 1 T20I bowler in latest ICC rankings

Annabel Sutherland is now the top-ranked T20I bowler with 736 points.
In the latest rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday, January 6, Australia‘s all-rounder Annabel Sutherland has captured the No. 1 spot among bowlers in Women’s T20Is. She has dethroned the star Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma from the top spot.
The 24-year-old Australian now has 736 ratings points in her kitty, despite playing her last T20I game in March 2025. Deepti has now moved to the second spot with 735 rating points. In the recent T20I series against Sri Lanka Women, the Indian all-rounder could not make a mark with her bowling.
After clinching the historic ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 in November, India Women locked horns with Sri Lanka Women in a five-match T20I series last month. Showcasing their dominance at home, the Harmanpreet Kaur & Co. bagged an impeccable clean sweep (5-0) against the visitors.
Deepti, who featured in four games in the campaign, clinched five wickets at an average of 19.40, including a three-wicket haul in one match. Although she finished as the joint-highest leading wicket-taker in the series, she has lost some rating points, which has affected her peak position among T20I bowlers.

Renuka Singh Thakur drops to 11th spot in T20I rankings
Moreover, Indian women’s team fast bowler Renuka Singh Thakur slipped to 11th position in the latest ICC rankings for T20I bowlers, losing her place among the top 10 bowlers. Radha Yadav has lost two spots to grab the 18th place, and is the third Indian bowler among the top 20 players.
Among batters, Jemimah Rodrigues has dropped two positions to take the 12th spot in ICC T20I rankings, while Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur has earned two places to capture the 13th spot.
Shafali Varma has retained her sixth place in the latest rankings, while Smriti Mandhana stays at the third position. Australia’s Beth Mooney is the No. 1 T20I batter in ICC rankings.
Among all-rounders, Deepti still holds her previous third spot, with West Indies’ Hayley Matthews ruling the leaderboard with 505 rating points.
