Apart from Anrich Nortje, Quinton de Kock has also been left out of the CSA Central Contracts 2024–25.
Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced its new list of centrally contracted players for the upcoming cricket season 2024-25 on March 26. The list saw some new additions and some big names have been omitted from the list.
Right-arm quick pacer Gerald Coetzee is the latest inclusion in SA’s central contracts. Coetzee had a dream ICC ODI World Cup 2023 in India. Before the marquee event, he had just played two ODIs, but went on to justify his selection as he picked up 20 wickets.
He finished the tournament as South Africa’s highest wicket-taker and has now been rewarded with a central contract. It is to be noted that Coetzee had already been added to the contracts list in November during the World Cup itself, but has now received a full-year contract for the first time.
Currently, he is taking part in the Indian Premier League 2024 season, playing for five-time champions Mumbai Indians. Apart from Coetzee, Nandre Burger, Toni de Zorzi and Andile Phehlukwayo have also been rewarded with a contract after their impressive performances in international cricket.
