Anshul Kamboj took 10/49 against Kerala in a Ranji Trophy game in Rohtak.
Haryana fast bowler Anshul Kamboj rescripted history on Friday at Chaudhary Bansi Lal Stadium in Rohtak by becoming only the third bowler to take 10 wickets in an innings in the Ranji Trophy.
The 23-year-old seamer achieved this feat against Kerala in their Ranji Trophy 2024-25 fixture after Haryana captain Ankit Kumar won the toss and elected to field first on a pitch that had plenty of grass on it.
Kamboj rattled the Kerala batsman and kept chipping away at them regularly. He bowled 30.1 overs in Kerala’s innings of 116.1 overs and picked up all 10 wickets.
Kamboj finished with figures of 30.1-9-49-10 and got a standing ovation from everyone at the ground as he walked back after producing a historic performance.
Out of the 10 wickets that the speedster took, three were bowled and four were caught behind by the wicket-keeper. This is a reflection of the tight lines that he kept throughout his multiple spells.

Kamboj became the third bowler to take a 10-for in an innings in Ranji Trophy history and the sixth Indian bowler to do so in first-class cricket. The two others to achieve the same feat before Kamboj in Ranji Trophy are Bengal’s Premangsu Chatterjee in 1956-57 and Rajasthan’s Pradeep Sunderam in 1985-86.
Three other Indians to take a 10-wicket innings haul in first-class cricket are Subhash Gupte and Anil Kumble and Odisha seamer Debasis Mohanty. Kumble attained his epic feat in a test match against Pakistan in Delhi, in 1999 and is one of the only three bowlers to do so in test cricket.
