Anshul Kamboj had a figures of 1/42 in four overs against SRH.
In match No. 55 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Anshul Kamboj made his debut for the five-time champion Mumbai Indians (MI) against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Wankhede Stadium on May 6. The 23-year-old Kamboj replaced overseas pacer Gerald Coetzee in the playing XI.
After being asked to bat first, Hyderabad openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma smashed debutant Anshul for 17 runs in his very first over in the IPL.
Hardik Pandya then brought Anshul into the attack to bowl the fifth over of the match. On the third ball of the over, Kamboj took the wicket of the dangerous opener Head, but his celebration ended up quickly as the umpire called it a no-ball. Later, Jasprit Bumrah removed Abhishek in the sixth over as the visitors went on to score 56/1 in the powerplay.
With hosts looking to take another wicket after the powerplay, Pandya once again brought Kamboj to bowl his third over and the eighth over of the first innings. In the fourth ball of the over, the 23-year-old pacer bowled a length delivery around the off stump to Hyderabad batter Mayank Agarwal.
The batter was making room to play the delivery through the off-side, but Mayank missed it completely as the ball shattered his stumps. After this, the debutant Anshul celebrated with a huge roar as Agarwal went back to the dugout with a disappointing face.
