Punjab pacer Arshdeep Singh is part of India’s squad in the ongoing test series against England. The left-arm pacer didn’t get an opportunity in the first four tests. He was expected to make his debut in the fourth game, but was ruled out of the game due to a thumb injury he sustained while training.

Notably, Jasprit Bumrah was advised to to play only three tests out of the five games in the series. He has already played three matches. Hence, he is highly likely to be rested for the fifth test at The Oval, London. Mohammed Siraj has played four tests in a row and there is a possibility of him being rested for the final game. In such a scenario, Arshdeep Singh might be included in the playing XI for the next game.

Arshdeep is yet to make his test debut for India. However, he owns a brilliant record in ODIs and T20Is. The 26-year-old has played nine ODIs and picked 14 wickets at an average of 23.0. In 63 T20Is, he has clinched 99 wickets at an economy of 8.30.

Although Arshdeep has not played any tests so far, he has an impressive record in First-Class (FC) cricket. He is part of the Punjab team in domestic cricket and has also represented the Kent County Club in England’s County Championship.
