Arshdeep Singh breaks into top 10 in latest men's T20I bowler's rankings; Pandya gains as all-rounder

Arshdeep Singh took three wickets in the first T20I against Bangladesh in Gwalior.

A few Indian players made significant gains in the latest ICC T20I rankings following India’s victory in the first T20I against Bangladesh, which was played in Gwalior.

The Men In Blue utterly demolished the visitors at the Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium by seven wickets, with Arshdeep Singh bagging the Man of the Match award.

The Indian bowlers restricted Bangladesh to 127 on a good pitch. Arshdeep returned with terrific figures of 3/14, while Varun Chakravarthy, who made a comeback to the side after three years, also bagged a three-wicket haul. Washington Sundar, Hardik Pandya and Mayank Yadav picked one wicket each.

In the chase, India batted with an aggressive approach and sealed the game in 11.5 overs. Sanju Samson scored 29 (17), Suryakumar Yadav whacked 29 (14), and Pandya blasted 39* (16),

In the latest ICC T20I rankings, Arshdeep and Pandya made strides. The left-arm pacer rose eight places to equal the eighth position with Anrich Nortje in the ICC T20I bowlers rankings.

Among the all-rounders, Hardik jumped four places to land on the third spot in the ICC T20I all-rounders rankings and is behind only England’s Liam Livingstone and Nepal’s Dipendra Singh Airee.

Washington Sundar also made some improvement in his bowling ranking. Following his spell of 1/12 in two overs in Gwalior, Sundar gained four places to move to the 35th spot.

The second IND vs BAN T20I will be played on Wednesday in Delhi.
