Arshdeep Singh feels that starting a YouTube channel has been a blessing in disguise for him.
Indian Cricket Team pacer Arshdeep Singh has opened up on when and why he commenced his journey as a YouTuber. The left-arm pacer is known for his funny and light-hearted videos on the video-sharing platform and also posts shorts on his channel, where he has over three lakh subscribers.
Recently, the Indian youngster shared a short video with Virat Kohli after India’s victory in the third ODI against South Africa. In the video, Arshdeep made a cheeky comment on Kohli’s missing his century in the clash, with the latter taking a dig at his bowling. The video went viral among fans and garnered over one million views.
Joking with Kohli, the 26-year-old said, “Paaji, run kam reh gaye… century aaj pakki thi waise.” (Brother, runs were less, otherwise century was confirmed today). Kohli hilariously responded, “Toss jeet gaye, nahi toh teri bhi pakki thi dew mein.” (We won the toss, otherwise, you would have been hit in dew).
It turned out to be a blessing in disguise: Arshdeep Singh shed lights on starting his YouTube channel

Speaking on JioHotstar, the Punjab Kings (PBKS) pacer revealed that he began making YouTube videos when he was overlooked from the playing XI in the opening game of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in February.
“When I got to know that I wouldn’t be playing in the first game of the Champions Trophy, I was very bored in my room – and that’s when I started my YouTube channel. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise,” he said.
“Sometimes you just have to be grateful that you are playing at this level. You also have to wait for your chances, and when you get an opportunity, make sure you make the most of it,” the left-armer added.
Notably, India opted for a spin-heavy attack in the tournament under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy in Dubai, winning the trophy by defeating New Zealand in the final. Notably, Arshdeep was benched throughout the tournament. During Asia Cup 2025 in September, the left-arm pacer became the first Indian bowler to reach the mark of 100 wickets in T20Is, capturing an impeccable feat in his kitty.
Meanwhile, Arshdeep was part of the opening T20I game against South Africa at Barabati Stadium, Cuttack, where he clinched two wickets. The Men in Blue crushed Proteas by 101 runs to gain a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
