Arshdeep Singh was ruled out of the Manchester test due to a hand injury.
As India get ready to play England in the fifth and final Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy match, which is scheduled to start on July 31 at The Oval, Arshdeep Singh is almost ready to receive his maiden test cap. After missing time due to a hand injury that required stitches, the left-arm pacer is now fully recovered.
The first three test matches of the ongoing series against England did not feature Arshdeep Singh. However, due to Akash Deep’s groin problem, he was in line to make his debut in the fourth test match at Manchester’s Old Trafford.
Arshdeep was ruled out of contention after suffering a thumb injury during a practice session in Beckenham, shattering his aspirations. In Arshdeep’s absence, Anshul Kamboj made his test debut for India.
The management of the Indian team is expected to give Arshdeep an opportunity with the red ball, though, as Anshul Kamboj has fallen short of expectations, and his bowling speed has also disappointed his fans.

According to a report in the Times of India, Arshdeep will probably make his debut for the Indian side in the fifth test match against England. The southpaw reportedly bowled at full power in the nets following his recovery from a hand injury that required ten stitches.
Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep may be the other two pacers, according to the same report. The report further claimed that there may be a last-minute call regarding Jasprit Bumrah’s availability for the fifth test between India and England. As part of his ongoing series on workload management, Bumrah has already participated in three tests.
Arshdeep Singh is a mainstay for India in T20Is and has 99 wickets in 63 games with best bowling figures of 4/9. He has also played nine ODIs, taking 14 wickets with BBI of 5/37. The left-arm Punjab pacer has a decent record in First-Class (FC) cricket, with 66 wickets to his name with a best of 6/40.
He also has experience playing in England with the red-ball. He played for Kent in English county cricket.
