Ashleigh Gardner’s estranged wife, Monica Wright, has shared controversial posts on social media.
Australia Women’s vice-captain Ashleigh Gardner has been hit by a major personal controversy on Monday, July 13. The Australian all-rounder has been accused of cheating by her estranged wife, Monica Wright. The latter has claimed Gardner cheated on her with one of her teammates.
Gardner and Wright met through a dating app in 2020 and tied the knot last April; several members of the Australian women’s cricket team also attended the ceremony. However, the marriage did not last long, and the two separated just a few months ago; yet, news of their separation only surfaced last week.
According to a Daily Mail report, the couple had issues even during the ICC Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 in India. Monica came to India during the tournament, and the couple had disagreements and arguments, witnessed by Gardner’s teammates.
In the report, the Daily Mail revealed some surprising details of Gardner and Wright’s separation. On Monday, Monica shared the screenshots of the news report on her Instagram account. In a post, she also alleged that reason behind their split was Gardner’s affair with one of her teammates.
Gardner accused of cheating with teammate Georgia Voll
Surprisingly, Wright has alleged in her Instagram story that Gardner was having an affair with her teammate Georgia Voll.
On her Instagram stories, Wright shared a photo of Daily News report and wrote: Nah, this shit is too vague. I’ll tell you exactly what happened. In the next post, she shared a photo of Georgia Voll and added: “This is who my wife cheated on me with…”. Have a look at her posts below.
According to the Daily Mail report, Cricket Australia (CA) was aware of the marriage breakdown last year. When asked for a reaction regarding the allegations of cheating, they did not comment on the matter.
Meanwhile, Gardner recently played for Australia Women in the T20 World Cup 2026 last month, in which they won the title by defeating hosts England Women in the final. The 29-year-old batter scored two half-centuries and picked three wickets in the tournament, while also bowling at a brilliant economy.
Gardner was awarded Player of the Match for her all-round show in the semi-final against West Indies, in which she bagged two wickets and scored an unbeaten 35 runs.
