Asia Cup 2023 schedule announced, India to clash with Pakistan on 2nd September

Host Pakistan will clash with Nepal in the opening encounter.
The wait for the highly anticipated Asia Cup 2023 is finally over, and cricket fans must be buzzing with excitement as the schedule has been announced, with the tournament beginning on August 30. The opening match will feature the host nation, Pakistan, locking horns with Nepal in Multan.
However, the real highlight of the event is undoubtedly the intense clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan, scheduled to take place on September 2 in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
Asia Cup 2023 Format
The tournament will witness the participation of six prominent teams from the Asian cricketing landscape: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal. Throughout the tournament, these teams will compete in a total of 13 exhilarating One-Day International (ODI) matches.
The teams have been split into two groups. One group comprises India, Pakistan, and Nepal, while the other includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.
The defending champions of the Asia Cup are Sri Lanka, while the last time this tournament was played in a 50-over format, India emerged as the winner in the UAE in 2018.
Schedule of Asia Cup 2023
The Asian Cricket Council had announced the schedule of the hybrid model Asia Cup with four matches being held in Pakistan, and the remaining nine matches being played in Sri Lanka.
India are scheduled to play all of their matches in Sri Lanka.
