In a heartwarming gesture, Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi presented a gift to Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah, who became a father recently.

Jasprit Bumrah and Sanjana Ganesan became parents recently. The couple gave birth to a baby boy earlier this month, and Bumrah flew home to be with the family during the birth. The Indian speedster missed the second league match of the Asia Cup 2023 against Nepal and joined the team right before the much-awaited clash between India and Pakistan.

In a video released by Pakistan Cricket, the Pakistan speedster was seen handing over a gift to new parent Jasprit Bumrah, who was all smiles while accepting the gift from the Pakistan pacer. The gesture has gained positive comments on social media, and the post has garnered more than 20 thousand likes within minutes.

The duo are set to resume their on-field rivalry on Monday as the match between India and Pakistan was moved to the reserve day because of rain.

India vs Pakistan clash moved to reserve day

The rain played the spoilsport once again in the Asia Cup as the clash between India and Pakistan could not be completed on Sunday. The Super-four match, which has an exclusive reserve day, will begin on Monday and it will remain a 50-over contest.

Earlier in the day, Babar Azam won the toss and sent India in. However, the move did not work well, as Indian openers dominated the proceedings.

Shubman Gill attacked right from the start and scored his first ODI half-century against Pakistan. He departed for 58 from 52 deliveries. On the other hand, Indian captain Rohit Sharma had a slow start to the innings but made it up later to score his second half-century of the Asia Cup 2023. He mustered 56 runs from 49 deliveries with 6 fours and 4 sixes.

The rain took over in the 25th over of the match, with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul in the crease. India will continue from 147 for 2 on Monday. Virat Kohli is unbeaten at 8 off 16 balls, and KL Rahul is at 17* off 28.

For Pakistan, Naseem Shah has been the most economical bowler, but he is yet to grab a wicket. Shaheen Afridi and Shadab Khan has bagged one wicket apiece so far.
