Breaking News: Asia Cup 2025 venue and dates announced; Tournament to be played in September

Asia Cup 2025 will be played in UAE.

The much-anticipated schedule of the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 is out. The tournament is all set to begin on September 9, with the final slated to take place on 28th of the same month and will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The Asia Cup 2025 got the green signal to go ahead after the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), which took place in Dhaka, Bangladesh. There were a lot of issues ahead of the meeting as well due to India’s tension with Bangladesh and Pakistan. 

However, the meeting went ahead as per the schedule with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) members taking part in it through online mode. Following the meeting, the governing body needed some time to sort out a few commercial details with its partners. 

The Asia Cup 2025 will see eight teams in India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, UAE and Oman.  A total of 19 games will be played in the tournament, and the final will take place on the last Sunday of September. 

The full schedule of the Asia Cup 2025 will be announced soon, but it is learned, as per the reports in Cricbuzz, that two arch-rivals in India and Pakistan, have been placed in the same group. The tournament will be played in T20I cricket as it is ahead of next year’s ICC T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.

Announcing the Asia Cup 2025, Mohsin Naqvi said that he is delighted to make the announcement and they are looking forward to the spectacular display of cricket. Taking to his Twitter account, he said: 

“I am delighted to confirm the dates of the ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2025 in UAE. The prestigious tournament will take place from September 9th to 28th. We look forward to a spectacular display of cricket. Details scheduled will be out soon,” Naqvi, who is also the president of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), said in a social media post on Saturday (July 26).
