Eight teams are locking horns in Asia Cup 2025, which is underway in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). India, Pakistan, the UAE, and Oman are placed in Group A, while Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Hong Kong are part of Group B. Two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Four Round.
On Sunday (September 14), India crushed Pakistan by seven wickets in group A to win their second game in a row. However, the match witnessed a bit of controversy as Indian players refused to shake hands with Pakistan players after the match as a mark of protest.
In response, Pakistan skipper Salman Agha did not attend the post-match presentation ceremony. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) then slammed the match referee, Andy Pycroft, and urged the International Cricket Council (ICC) to suspend him for the remainder of the tournament. Moreover, Pakistan have also reportedly threatened to boycott their next game against the UAE if the ICC do not remove Pycroft.
