India will play their opening game of Asia Cup 2025 against the UAE on 10th September.

Asia Cup 2025, which will be third T20I edition and overall 17th edition of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) event, is all set to begin on September 9 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The tournament will conclude on 28th September, where eight teams will battle for the crown.

Indian Cricket Team are part of Group A in the tournament, alongside Pakistan, UAE, and Oman. The Men in Blue will play their opening game against the UAE on September 10. Later, they will face Pakistan on September 14 and Oman on September 19.

Two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Four round, where they will play three more games. Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong are placed in Group B. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the two venues for Asia Cup 2025.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named a strong India squad, which will be led by Suryakumar Yadav. Shubman Gill, Sanju Samson, Suryakumar, and Rinku Singh are key members in the batting department.

Jasprit Bumrah will lead the pace attack, with Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana by his side. Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakravarthy are frontline spinners in the squad.

Having won the last edition of the Asia Cup in 2023, crushing Sri Lanka in the final, India will enter this edition as the defending champions. Over the years, India have also won the most number of titles (8) in the Asia Cup. Sri Lanka are next with six titles.

Notably, this year’s Asia Cup will be the time that the tournament will be played in T20 format. Earlier, the 2016 and 2022 editions were played in T20 format.
