Asked to bat, Pakistan had another poor opening partnership with Saim Ayub bagging his third consecutive duck of the Asia Cup 2025. Sahibzada Farhan, who looked good against India, also failed as Pakistan were left reeling at nine for two.

Senior pro in Fakhar Zaman (50) then took the responsibility and slammed a brilliant fifty under pressure. Skipper Salman Agha (20) supported him well as the duo added 61 runs for the third wicket. However, the UAE made a strong comeback after that, picking wickets in quick succession.

Simranjeet Singh troubled the middle-order, picking three wickets for 26 to leave Pakistan tottering at 110 for seven. But it was Shaheen Afridi (29*), who played yet again played valuable innings and powered his team to a total of 146 for nine. For the UAE, apart from Simranjeet, Junaid Siddique picked four wickets.

In the chase, UAE had an aggressive start to their innings with Alishan Sharafu and skipper Muhammad Waseem adding 21 runs inside three overs. However, neither could carry on the start that they had as the UAE lost three wickets for just 37.

With the team under pressure, Rahul Chopra (35) and Dhruv Parashar (20) joined hands and added 48 runs for the fourth wicket. However, they succumbed to pressure as Pakistan spinners were all over them with the UAE losing six wickets for 96. The pacers then wrapped up the tail quickly as UAE got all out for 105, losing the game by 41 runs.
