KL Rahul slammed his ninth test century during the Headingley test.

Indian opener KL Rahul slammed a marvellous ton in the second innings of the ongoing Headingley test against England. The right-handed batsman slammed his ninth test century during the encounter. After his brilliant knock, his wife and Bollywood actress Athiya Shetty shared a heart-warming story on Instagram to celebrate the knock.

Notably, Rahul became the fourth Indian batsman to smack a ton in the ongoing first test between India Cricket Team and England Cricket Team. In the first innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant hit hundreds to guide India to 471/10.

Pant returned with another ton in the second innings, becoming the first Indian batter to slam twin centuries in a test match in England. Rahul scored a decent knock of 42 runs in the first innings, however, he returned with an even better show in the second innings.

Many cricket fans hailed KL Rahul on social media platform X (Twitter) after his century. Rahul’s wife Athiya Shetty shared also shared a story on her Instagram profile to celebrate his husband’s ton. On her Instagram story, she shared a photo of Rahul celebrating his hundred and captioned it, “This one is special.”

Notably, the right-handed batsman slammed his third century in a test match in England. His previous two tons in England came at The Oval in 2018 and at the Lord’s in 2021.

In the second innings, Rahul and Pant etched a partnership of 195 runs for the fourth wicket to propel the scoreboard to 287 for the loss of four wickets. Pant lost his wicket for 118 runs while Rahul got out for 137 runs off 247 deliveries.

India finished their second innings at 364 and set the hosts a target of 371 runs to chase in the final innings.
