Australia are set to play Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series.
Bangladesh will be hosting the Australia from June 9 in a white-ball series comprising of three ODIs and T20Is each, starting June 9.
The ODIs will be played on 9th, 11th and 14th June, all in Dhaka. Meanwhile the T20I series will begin from June 17. All the T20I matches are scheduled in Chattogram.
Josh Ingis will continue to captain Australia, having led the team against Pakistan. Travis Head has been ruled-out of the series due to personal leave while Mitchell Marsh continues to recover from injury. In another big blow, Tanveer Sangha also has been ruled-out due to hamstring injury that he sustained during the second ODI against Pakistan.
Todd Murphy, who is yet to play a white-ball game for Australia, has been picked in the side while Matthew Short and Oliver Peake were retained. Xavier Bartlett and Ben Dwarshuis also returned to team.
Head featured in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 where he scored 410 runs in 15 matches, striking above 170.
“Travis was initially selected in the ODI and T20I legs of this Bangladesh tour but has subsequently been granted personal leave for both. We look forward to seeing him again for the top end Test Series against Bangladesh”, Dodemaide said.
Talking about the new addition Todd Murphy, Dodemaide said, “We’re excited to welcome Todd Murphy into the ODI squad for the first time.”
Peake and Short showed positive signs in the recent series against Pakistan, and the Australian selector is confident that the duo can perform well if given a chance against Bangladesh.
