The Australia tour of England 2024 comprises three T20Is and five ODIs, starting on September 11.

It is time for some high-profile action between two of cricket’s biggest powerhouses – Australia and England. Starting Wednesday, England will host Australia for three T20Is and five ODIs. Some of the biggest white-ball superstars in the world will be taking part in these two series.

This is the first time since 2020 that Australia are touring England for white-ball matches.

The tour will begin on September 11 with the T20I series, which will be followed by a five-match ODI series, starting on September 19. The five-match ODI series will be important as both teams start their preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Australia have won the last two ODI series between the two, while England have clinched the last two T20I series. Their last two encounters were during the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Australia won both those matches.

Mitchell Marsh will lead Australia in ODIs and T20Is. Hosts England have suffered a huge blow as white-ball captain Jos Buttler has been ruled out of the T20I series and is unlikely to play in the ODIs as well due to a right calf injury. Phil Salt will lead in the T20Is and Harry Brook is touted to captain the ODI side. Pat Cummins has been rested from the tour ahead of the home test series against India.
