Australia hammered India by 10 wickets in the Adelaide test.

India and Australia’s cricketing rivalry has produced some of the most memorable moments in the game’s history. From the iconic Kolkata test in 2001 to Australia’s recent World Cup triumph in Ahmedabad in 2023, the two teams have delivered several unforgettable encounters.

Combined, the two heavyweights of world cricket stand tall with eight ICC Men’s Cricket World Cups and three ICC Men’s T20 World Cup titles.

Amid their fierce on-field competition, what makes the rivalry great is the mutual respect between the players of these two sides. In a recent show on ABC Sport, several Australian cricketers revealed their favorite Indian players growing up.

In a heartwarming video shared during a segment, Australian cricketers, including captain Pat Cummins, Steve Smith, Travis Head, Usman Khawaja, and Alex Carey, spoke about their favourite Indian cricketers growing up.

Cummins, Smith, Head and Maxwell revealed legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar as their childhood favourite among Indian players. The Australian players emphasized Sachin’s impact on the game and how he made batting look easy.

Meanwhile wicket-keeper Alex Carey named MS Dhoni as his hero. He shared how Dhoni inspired him during his initial years and expressed gratitude for the opportunity of eventually playing against him.

Usman Khawaja chose Virender Sehwag for his fearless batting approach. Glenn Maxwell picked VVS Laxman as well along with Tendulkar.

This video has surfaced in between the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25. The five-match series is currently tied 1-1, with the visitors securing a dominating 295-run victory in Perth before the hosts bounced back in Adelaide with a dominant 10-wicket win in the day-night test.

The action will now shift to Brisbane for the third test, starting on, Saturday, December 14.
