Avesh Khan dismissed Abdul Samad for a golden duck during IPL 2024 Qualifier 2.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) right-arm pacer Avesh Khan bowled a stunning delivery to dismiss Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter Abdul Samad for a golden duck in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Qualifier 2 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 24.

After being asked to bat first, Hyderabad had a poor start with the bat as they lost in-form opener Abhishek Sharma for just 12 runs in the very first over. However, Rahul Tripathi scored a blistering 15-ball 37 before Rajasthan left-arm pacer Trent Boult took his wicket in the fifth over.

Former SRH skipper Aiden Markram went after scoring just one run in two deliveries as Hyderabad reached 68/3 at the end of first powerplay. Royals pacer Sandeep Sharma took the crucial wicket of Hyderabad’s Travis Head (34) in the 10th over of the first innings.

Avesh Khan dismantles Abdul Samad’s stumps

With Rajasthan looking to build more pressure in the middle overs, skipper Sanju Samson brought speedster Avesh into the attack to bowl the 14th over of the Hyderabad innings.

In the last delivery of the over, Royals pacer Avesh bowled a stunning delivery to Hyderabad’s Samad, which dismantled his stumps. The ball was pitched at a good length and tailed in slightly towards Samad.

However, the right-handed batter’s feet were stuck to the crease as he went with a tentative push, which left a gap for the ball to sneak past the inside edge. The ball went past the inside edge and hit the top of the off-stump. Soon after the dismissal, Avesh celebrated widely as Samad went back to the hut for a golden duck.
