Avesh Khan regrets throwing his helmet on the ground after win against RCB

Avesh Khan picked up only 8 wickets in 9 games for Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2023.
The IPL 2023 saw its most controversial game on 1st May when Lucknow Super Giants faced Royal Challengers Bangalore. This game saw multiple personal battles among senior players which raised the intensity of their rivalry in coming seasons. But before that game, these two teams took on each other at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore where Lucknow Super Giants had a close win over RCB. Lucknow defeated RCB by just one wicket in the last ball of the game. Pacer Avesh Khan was on strike when LSG took the winning run and he went on to celebrate aggressively. Avesh threw his helmet on the ground after taking the winning run.

Now after almost two months after the incident, Avesh regrets throwing his helmet on the ground after taking the winning run in the last ball. Lucknow needed just one to win in the last ball when Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi completed a run when the delivery was signaled byes. In an interview with Indian Express, Avesh Khan said, “Yeh Social Media me mera mahaul bana rehta hai and helmet incident thoda jyada ho gya tha. (My presence remains in Social Media, and That helmet throwing incident was a bit far)”. He also said, “I realised later that I shouldn’t have done this. It just happened in the heat of the moment. I now feel sad that yaar yeh sab cheez karna tha (Shouldn’t have done that)”.
Avesh was trolled badly for his action on the field and found himself among critics for his aggressive celebration. Avesh Khan didn’t had a great IPL 2023 as he could only pick up 8 wickets in 9 games for the Lucknow Super Giants. Avesh also admitted that it was not his best outing in the league. He said, “If you compare my past two IPL seasons before this one, it went the way I wanted it.. However, even though the season didn’t go well as per my standard”. Avesh is a regular member of Lucknow Super Giants playing eleven and plays a crucial role in Lucknow’s camp.
