Australia Women won the toss and opted to bowl first. England had a tough outing with the bat. Both openers Amy Jones (6) and Danni Wyatt-Hodge (8) got out for single digits, which came as a big blow at the start.
Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt (58*) slammed an unbeaten fifty, while Freya Kemp added crucial 44 runs to drive the scoreboard to 150 for four. For Australia, Kim Garth, Lucy Hamilton, Sophie Molineux, and Annabel Sutherland bagged one wicket each.
Dismissing opener Georgia Voll (9) for single digit, England had an early success with the ball. However, they looked completely helpless against the dominant pair of Beth Mooney (64) and Phoebe Litchfield (48), as they etched a stand of 100 runs for the second wicket.
The duo took the scoreboard to 117/2 till the end of the 13th over. The partnership set the platform for Australia’s victory by seven wickets. England clinched two more wickets towards the end, but Australia had already reached a winning position by that time.
