Pakistan captain Babar Azam scored a fifty against India in Ahmedabad.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam celebrated his 29th birthday with his teammates upon reaching Bengaluru on Sunday. Pakistan arrived in Bengaluru following a thrashing against India in Ahmedabad. Babar Azam hit his first fifty in the ongoing World Cup against India, but it wasn't good enough to beat the hosts.

Babar was seen celebrating his birthday with his teammates. Pakistan will rest on Monday and get back to practice on Tuesday ahead of the crucial clash against Australia on October 20 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Pakistan will look to bounce back after a loss against arch-rivals India. Pakistan failed to play out their quota of 50 overs and were ineffective with the ball as well. The side lost 8 wickets for 36 runs against men in blue.

Babar addressed the mighty collapse and lauded his opposition captain, Rohit Sharma, post-debacle. "We started well, good partnership. We just planned to play normal cricket and build partnerships. Suddenly there was a collapse, and we could not finish well. It was not good for us. The way we started, our target was 280–290, but the collapse cost us. The total was not good. We are not up to par with the new ball. The way Rohit played was outstanding. We just tried to take wickets, but that didn't happen." Babar stated.

Pakistan will look to bank on the likes of Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf against an under-fire Australian side. Currently in the fourth spot with two wins, a victory over Australia will take Pakistan closer to semi-finals. Babar will be happy to get back among the runs, and the onus will be on the skipper to fire his side to a win over Australia in Bengaluru.
