The BAN vs SA two-match test series 2024 will be played from October 21 to November 2 in Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh cricket team are currently hosting South Africa for a two-match test series at home. This series is part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle.

The opening test is being played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. The second test will be hosted at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram from October 29 to November 2.

South Africa have always dominated Bangladesh in test cricket. Both nations have faced each other 14 times in test cricket before the start of this series. Out of these, South Africa won 12 tests, whereas Bangladesh have never won a test match against South Africa. Two test matches ended in a draw.

Talking about the BAN vs SA test series, the Proteas have won four games out of six they have played in Bangladesh.

BAN vs SA: When was the last time South Africa won a test match in Bangladesh?

The last time South Africa won a test match in Bangladesh was in 2008. Then, the Proteas whitewashed Bangladesh 2-0 in the two-test BAN vs SA series.

In the 2008 series, South Africa outclassed Bangladesh in the opening test match in Mirpur by five wickets. Jacques Kallis was named Player of the Match for his impressive five-wicket haul in the second innings.

In the second test in Chattogram, South Africa declared at 583/7 after Graeme Smith and Neil McKenzie slammed double centuries. In reply, Bangladesh were bundled out for 259 & 119 runs in their both innings,. South Africa won the one-sided affair by an innings and 205 runs.
