Bangladesh to host Zimbabwe for 5 T20Is as preparation for ICC T20 World Cup 2024

Bangladesh will host Zimbabwe in May 2024 for a five-match T20I series.
Bangladesh will be playing a five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe in between the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Bangladesh will be taking on Zimbabwe as a preparatory T20I series ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Earlier, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced that Bangladesh side will also travel early to USA for a three-match T20I series.
The upcoming series will help Bangladesh side to enhance their skills and find a right balance of the squad ahead of much awaited ICC T20 World Cup 2024 in West Indies and USA. Bangladesh will also resume their test rivalry against Zimbabwe next year in 2025. The BCB in a release stated that both sides have agreed to play the test match, which was earlier scheduled this year, in 2025.
Chattogram and Mirpur to host all five T20Is
The upcoming five-match series will begin on 1st May, where first three T20I matches will be played at Zahoor Ahmed Chaudhary Stadium in Chattogram and the final two games will be played at Shere-E-Bangla, Mirpur, Dhaka. Zimbabwe will arrive on Bangladesh on 28th April. Zimbabwe failed to qualify for the upcoming mega T20I event in West Indies and USA.
The first game of the series will be played on 3rd May, second game will be played on 5th May, third T20I will be played on 7th May at Zahoor Ahmed Chaudhary Stadium in Chattogram. Then both sides will travel to Dhaka and play fourth T20I on 10th May and the fifth game on 12th May before the hosts fly out for T20 World Cup.
Bangladesh are placed in Group D of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 along with South Africa, Sri Lanka, Netherlands and Nepal. They will play their opening game against Sri Lanka on 7th June at Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas. The T20 World Cup will begin on 2nd June, with USA and Canada playing the curtain raiser.

5 May, 2024: 2nd T20I, ZACS, Chattogram (6 PM)
7 May, 2024: 3rd T20I, ZACS, Chattogram (3 PM)
10 May, 2024: 4th T20I, SBNCS, Mirpur (6 PM)
12 May, 2024: 5th T20I, SBNCS, Mirpur (10 AM)
