Basit Ali was unhappy with the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) central contracts list.
Basit Ali, a former star of the Pakistan cricket team, was not happy with the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) decision to exclude all players from Category A of the central contracts. He also mocked the upcoming India vs Pakistan match in the Asia Cup 2024, which will be played in Dubai on September 14.
Without naming anyone in the top tier, PCB chose to demote Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan to Category B. The board’s statement that the players’ performances during the previous year were unsatisfactory was a powerful message to the players.
Due to their continuously subpar performances in all major tournaments, including the ICC T20 World Cup last year, the ICC Champions Trophy this year, and the bilaterals against Bangladesh and the West Indies, Babar and Rizwan have been penalized.
“Ek majaak abhi aur hoga”—Basit Ali on the PCB central contracts and India vs Pakistan Asia Cup match

Salman Ali Agha, the T20 captain, has been promoted from group C to group B. Saim Ayub, the opener, and Haris Rauf, the pacer, were the other noteworthy promotions.
Basit referred to it as a “joke” and said that Salman Ali Agha ought to have been listed in the top category. There will be another ‘joke’ when Pakistan plays India in the Asia Cup, he continued.
“Ek majaak abhi aur hoga jab September 14 ko India vs Pakistan match hoga. Wahaan ek majaak aur hoga. (One more joke will happen when India faces Pakistan on September 14. Another joke will unfold there,” he told Kamran Akmal on a YouTube show called “Game Plan.”
The PCB has increased the pool to 30 players, including 12 new recruits, from the 27 contractual players listed last year.
Hussain Talat, Khushdil Shah, Ahmed Daniyal, Faheem Ashraf, Hasan Ali, Hasan Nawaz, Sahibzada Farhan, Salman Mirza, Sufyan Moqim, Mohammad Abbas, Mohammad Haris, and Mohammad Nawaz are the newcomers.
Nine players have also maintained their spots in the same categories. These include Noman Ali, Sajid Khan, Saud Shakeel, and Abdullah Shafique (Category C); Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Abbas Afridi, and Muhammad Wasim Jr. (Category D); and Shaheen Shah Afridi (Category B).
Eight players who have missed out on contracts this year include Aamir Jamal, Haseebullah, Kamran Ghulam, Mir Hamza, Mohammad Ali, Mohammad Huraira, Muhammad Irfan Khan, and Usman Khan. They were all in Category (D).
