Mumbai Indians (MI) are the joint-most successful team in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. They have won five trophies in the IPL, a record also held by Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Over the years, MI have produced many batting stalwarts. Legends like Sachin Tendulkar, Sanath Jayasuriya, and Ricky Ponting are a few big names who were associated with the Mumbai Indians for multiple years.

Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Quinton de Kock, and Ambati Rayudu are a few batters who grabbed a lot of limelight with their successful stints with MI. These batsmen also made a huge mark for their national teams.

Over the years, some MI batsmen have played a crucial role in the team’s success with their consistent performances. Several MI batters also hold the record for smacking a century in the IPL.

Eight batsmen have scored centuries for MI in IPL

Former Sri Lanka captain Sanath Jayasuriya was the first MI batsman to score a century in the IPL. In the inaugural edition in 2008, he scored an unbeaten 114 runs in a clash against Chennai Super Kings. Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav are the two batters who have multiple centuries to their name.
