Mithali Raj leads the run-scoring charts in Women’s International cricket.

Women’s cricket has evolved enormously over the past few decades, with batters playing an increasing role across all three formats of the game.

From the early players who laid the foundation of women’s cricket, the sport has now passed into the hands of modern-day stars. These stars have redefined scoring standards and have accumulated shocking numbers across formats. 

Longevity is another defining characteristic of the players who have represented their nations throughout decades. Many of these players have played hundreds of international matches across formats while maintaining consistency across generations. 

Over the last decade, the list has witnessed major changes. Despite Australia being the most successful team in international cricket, none of the top five players hail from the island nation.

Highest run-scorers in Women’s International Cricket:

Stafanie Taylor – 10,005 runs

West Indies legend Stafanie Taylor is fifth on the list of batters with the most runs in women’s international cricket. A prolific all-rounder from the West Indies, she has been one of the most important figures in West Indies women’s cricket. 

The 35-year-old veteran has played 179 ODI matches and amassed 6,339 runs, including 10 centuries and 42 half-centuries. In the shortest format, she has played 139 matches and has amassed 3666 runs, taking his tally to over 10000 runs. 

Charlotte Edwards – 10,273 runs 

Former England captain Charlotte Edwards occupies fourth position with 10,273 runs across 309 international appearances. She ended her international career having featured in all three formats for England. 

Edwards played in 23 Tests, 191 ODIs and 95 T20Is for England. She amassed 1676, 5992 and 2605 runs in her career and also scored thirteen centuries in her international career. She remains the highest run-scorer in England women’s cricket history. 

Suzie Bates – 10,740 runs 

New Zealand‘s Suzie Bates finished her international career with 10,740 runs across 370 innings. She featured in international cricket for over 20 years and finished as the leading run-scorer in Women’s T20Is, accumulating 4758 runs in the format. 

In 184 ODI appearances, Bates scored 5,982 runs with thirteen hundreds and a career-best of 168. In a record 186 T20I appearances, she scored 4758 runs and scored a ton in the shortest format as well. 

Smriti Mandhana – 10,756* runs 

Smriti Mandhana has now moved into second place after surpassing Suzie Bates during the first match of the Women’s Asia Cup 2026. She crossed 10756 runs, of which 5411 were scored in ODI format and 4557 runs in the T20I format. Mandhana also scored 788 runs in the red-ball format. 

In her career, the Indian southpaw has appeared in 301 international matches and has amassed 10,756 runs so far. Mandhana has amassed 17 international centuries, which is the joint-most by any cricketer in international cricket. She has also scored 75 half-centuries so far in her career. 

Mithali Raj – 10,868 runs 

Former Indian skipper Mithali Raj is considered one of the most legendary cricketers to have played for India. She sits at the summit with 10,868 runs from 333 matches in her international career. 

Her remarkable record includes 7,805 runs in ODI cricket, which remains a record-high career total in the 50-over format. She also averaged over 50 in her international ODI career. In 12 Tests, she amassed 699 runs, including one century. She also featured in 89 T20Is and scored 2364 runs. 

Smriti Mandhana is only 113 runs behind Mithali Raj’s extensive record, and she is likely to surpass the former India skipper, as she is the only active player on the list across all three formats.
