Samoa’s Darius Visser became the latest batter to hit six sixes in an over in T20Is.

There are a few records and achievements in cricket which are rare and extremely difficult to attain and match. One such feat is hitting six sixes in an over.

Overall, there have been only six instances in the history of men’s international cricket where a batter managed to crack six sixes in an over; four of those were recorded in the T20Is and two in ODI cricket.

List of batters to hit six sixes in an over in men’s T20I:

4. Yuvraj Singh vs England (2007)

This is probably the most memorable event on this list as it was attained during a T20 World Cup match. In a game between India and England at the ICC T20 World Cup 2007, Yuvraj Singh clobbered a 12-ball fifty.

Before the start of the 19th over of India’s innings, he had an altercation with Andrew Flintoff, which fired him up. Soon after, the left-hander smashed Stuart Broad for six consecutive sixes. India made 218 and won the game by 18 runs. This is the only time a batter has hit six sixes in an over in the men’s ICC T20 World Cup.

3. Kieron Pollard vs Sri Lanka (2021)

Former West Indian captain Kieron Pollard is known for his brute strength and powerful hitting. He has played several game-changing and match-winning knocks in his T20I career. One of his best innings came against Sri Lanka in 2021 in Coolidge.

West Indies were chasing a target of 132 runs. Spinner Akila Dananjaya had been bowling superbly as he had taken a hat-trick in the match. But Pollard didn’t shy away from taking Dananjaya down and whacked six consecutive sixes. He made 38 runs in 11 balls and West Indies reached 134/6 in 13.1 overs to win the game.

2. Dipendra Singh Airee vs Qatar (2024)

Nepal all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee is a beast when it comes to power-hitting. He holds the record for the fastest-ever T20I fifty off just nine balls.

He has also hit six sixes in an over. He did it against Qatar in April 2024. It was an ACC Men’s Premier Cup game at Al Amerat. He scored 64* off 21 balls, with three fours and seven sixes. He smashed Qatar pacer Kamran Khan for six sixes in a single over.

Nepal made 210/7 and restricted Qatar to 178/9 to win the game by 32 runs.

1. Darius Visser vs Vanuatu (2024)

On August 20, 2024, Samoa batter Darius Visser became the fourth batter to hit six sixes in an over.

In an ICC Men’s T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific Region Qualifier game against Vanuatu in Apia, he walloped pacer Nalin Nipiko for six sixes in an over.

The over included two front-foot no-balls and one no-ball was for waist-height full-toss. Nipiko conceded 39 runs in this over, thus making it the most expensive over in men’s T20I.

Darius scored 132 off 62 balls with five fours and 14 sixes in his team’s total of 174. In reply, Vanuatu made 164/9 and lost by 10 runs.
