Several big names feature in list of five batters with the most ducks in Tests since 2024.

Test cricket is the toughest form of cricket. The introduction of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) has added more excitement to this format. It is very tough for a batter to perform consistently across different conditions.

In the format, where every stat matters, a batter is always chasing big hundreds and scores. But sometimes it even becomes difficult to get off the mark.

This article is all about one such unwanted batting record, where we will talk about most ducks in Test cricket since the start of 2024.

Some of the names on this list can surprise you. Notably, the record for most ducks in Test cricket is held by West Indies’ Courtney Walsh (43).

5. Yashasvi Jaiswal – 7 ducks

Yashasvi Jaiswal is a big surprise on this list. The young Indian opener is one of the most promising talents in modern-day cricket. Since making his international debut in 2023, Jaiswal has shown signs of becoming a consistent all-format batter.

In Tests, he has already achieved some big feats, but 2026 hasn’t gone well for him. Since 2024, he has recorded seven ducks in Tests.

4. Asitha Fernando – 8 ducks

Sri Lanka‘s right-arm pacer Asitha Fernando has been a key figure in Tests and ODIs. He has been pretty effective with the ball at different stages.

In Tests, he is very close to taking 100 wickets, but a batting average of 2.9 indicates his ability with the bat. Asitha has recorded 8 ducks in this period with the bat in 15 Tests.

3. Mohammed Siraj – 9 ducks

Mohammed Siraj is one of India’s premier fast bowlers. Known for his habit of picking wickets at different stages, Siraj has played a key role in India’s success in recent years. His contribution in the five-match Test series in England in 2025 was one of the highlights of his career.

But with the bat, he is a typical tailender, who likes to use a long handle from the get-go. Siraj has recorded nine ducks since 2024. In fact, he has the second-most ducks in WTC history (16).

2. Jayden Seales – 9 ducks

Tied with Siraj, West Indies‘ pacer Jayden Seales also has nine wickets in Tests since 2024. Known for his speed and accuracy, Seales is the youngest West Indian bowler to take a Test fifer at the age of 19 years and 336 days. But with the bat, he has nothing to show. A test average of 8.36 shows why.

1. Jasprit Bumrah – 12 ducks

Regarded as probably the best all-format bowler in modern-day cricket, Jasprit Bumrah is one of the most impactful cricketers across formats. The ace pacer has delivered many match-winning spells for India and won the games on their own.

However, with the bat, he is a walking wicket at times. Though he holds the record for scoring most runs in a single over in Tests, but he is also at the top of this list with 12 ducks. Overall, Bumrah has 28 ducks, which is the most among the active test cricketers.

Who holds the record for most ducks in Test cricket?

The record for most ducks in test cricket is held by West Indies’ Courtney Walsh (43).
