BBL 2023-24: Points table, most runs, most wickets, after Match 27th STR vs SCO

Adelaide Strikers won their second game of the BBL 2023-24.

Adelaide Strikers registered a comprehensive win against Perth Scorchers to remain alive in the ongoing BBL 2023-24. Strikers had a poor season so far, but they turned the tables against Perth Scorchers and chased down a modest target of 154 at Adelaide Oval. Skipper Mathew Short (76) and Chris Lynn (50) led their side to a magnificent 9-wicket win. Strikers got off to a great start with Mathew Short and D’Arcy Short (24) adding 58 runs for the first wicket in 4.5 overs.

Earlier in the game, Adelaide Strikers won the toss and invited Perth Scorchers to bat first. Perth didn’t have a decent start and lost their openers early in third over. Captain Aaron Hardie (35) and Josh Inglis (39) steered the side to decent total with a partnership of 60 runs for the third wicket. Scorchers did have a decent performance in the middle overs, but they once again failed to get a great finish. Perth finished their innings on 153/7. Strikers’ David Payne bowled a magnificent spell of 2/22 in 3 overs.
