Sydney Sixers defeated Melbourne Stars in the 28th league match of BBL 2023-24.

Sydney Sixers have got back to winning ways after defeating Melbourne Stars in the 28th game of the BBL 2023-24. Sixers have registered their fourth win of the season to jump to second spot in the points table. Sydney Sixers successfully chased down a target of 157 runs against Melbourne Stars at the MCG. Opener James Vince played a magnificent knock of 79 runs to help the Sixers in their win. Vince scored 79 runs in 57 balls with 12 fours. Daniel Hughes (41) also had a wonderful stand along with opener James Vince.

Sydney Sixers’ off-spinner Todd Murphy bowled a magnificent spell against Melbourne Stars. Murphy picked up 2 wickets conceding 15 runs in his spell of 4 overs. Melbourne Stars didn’t had a great time with the bat as they could only post 156 runs in 20 overs. Dan Lawrence was the top-scorer for Stars with 36 runs in 34 balls. Lawrence smashed a four and two big sixes in his innings. Melbourne Stars failed to continue their winning run in the BBL 2023-24.
