BBL 2023-24: Points table, most runs, most wickets after match 15 SCO vs REN

Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Stars won their respective games in BBL 2023-24 on Boxing Day.

It was a double delight for the cricket fans in the BBL 2023-24 season which ended with a close contest between Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Renegades. In a close run-chase, Perth Scorchers managed to defeat Renegades by 13 runs and jump to second spot in the BBL 2023-24 points table. Perth needed 162 runs to defend and Jason Behrendorff and Andrew Tye’s magnificent spell put the team in top. Perth restricted Renegades to just 149 runs in 20 overs.

Melbourne Stars registered their first win of the season as they defeated Sydney Sixers by 4 wickets in the final over of the game. Hilton Cartwright’s 47 runs knock in 30 balls helped his side get two points in the table. Leg-spinner Usama Mir’s 3/19 spell in 4 overs was also crucial for the Stars into the game. James Vince led the Sydney Sixers batting and put his side to 154 runs with 83 runs knock.

Melbourne Stars have managed to win their first game of the BBL 2023-24 season as they defeated Sydney Sixers by 4 wickets in the match 14. Later on in the evening, Perth Scorchers prevailed against Melbourne Renegades in a close game played at Optus Stadium in Perth. Perth Scorchers jumped to second place in the table with 7 points in 4 games. Melbourne Stars are currently placed 7th with just two points. Brisbane Heat are the table-toppers with 7 points.

BBL 2023-24: Most Runs

Perth Scorchers’ top-order batter Aaron Hardie has become the leading run-scorer of the Big Bash League 2023-24 season with his magnificent 57 runs knock against Melbourne Renegades. Hardie is leading the chart with 182 runs in 4 innings. Brisbane Heat’s Colin Munro is second with 157 runs in 3 innings. Adelaide Strikers’ Mathew Short is 3rd with 137 runs, Thunder’s Cam Bancroft is 4th with 129 runs and Melbourne Stars’ Hilton Cartwright is 5th with 126 runs.

Perth Scorchers’ Jason Behrendorff is leading the top wicket-takers chart with 7 wickets in 4 matches. Behrendorff picked up a wicket against Melbourne Renegades. Brisbane Heat pacer Paul Walter is second leading wicket-taker with 6 wickets in 3 games, Walter’s teammate Xavier Bartlett is 3rd in the table with 6 wickets in 3 games. Heat leg-spinner Mitchell Swepson also has 6 wickets in 3 games and is 4th in the table. Sydney Thunder’s Zaman Khan is 5th with 6 wickets.
