BCCI announces cash prize of INR 51 crore for India Women after their ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 triumph

India Women defeated South Africa Women in the final of ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced cash reward of INR 51 crore for India Women Cricket Team following their victory in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 final. The Harmanpreet Kaur & Co. outplayed South Africa Women by 52 runs in the summit clash on Sunday (November 2) at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai to lift the title for the very first time.
In their lead-up to the trophy, India Women crushed mighty Australia Women in the semi-finals by five wickets. The Alyssa Healy & Co. were unbeaten in the tournament before the semis and were looking favourites to grab the trophy for the second time in a row. After crushing Australia, India Women arrived with another dominant show against South Africa in the final to clinch their first-ever ICC title.
Notably, the International Cricket Council (ICC) will be handing out a cash prize of USD 4.48 million to India Women for winning ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, which roughly translates to INR 39.78 crore. However, BCCI has announced an even bigger reward than ICC for the Women in Blue following their triumph.
India Women will be rewarded Rs. 51 crore: Devajit Saikia

During a conversation with ANI, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia revealed that the board has announced a cash reward of Rs. 51 crore for India Women players, coaches, and support staff.
“Since Jay Shah took charge of the BCCI (serving as Secretary from 2019 to 2024), he has brought about many transformations in women’s cricket. Pay parity was also addressed. Last month, ICC Chairman Jay Shah increased women’s prize money by 300 per cent. Earlier, the prize money was $2.88 million, and now it has been increased to $14 million. All these steps have greatly promoted women’s cricket. The BCCI has also announced a reward of ₹51 crore for the entire team – players, coaches, and support staff,” he said.
Hailing the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side, Saikia also added that they have won the hearts of all Indian people.
“In 1983, Kapil Dev brought about a new era and encouragement in cricket by making India win the World Cup. The same excitement and encouragement have been brought by the women today. Harmanpreet Kaur and her team have not just won the trophy today – they have won the hearts of all Indians. They have paved the way for the next generation of women cricketers. Women’s cricket had already reached the next level when our team defeated Australia in the semifinals,” he added.
BCCI announces Rs. 51 crore cash reward for India Women in an official statement
In an official statement, BCCI revealed that India Women will be rewarded Rs. 51 crore following their victory in ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. BCCI also hailed India Women for their remarkable achievement, stating that they fulfilled the aspirations of millions of fans.
“In a momentous achievement for Indian cricket, the Indian women’s cricket team has been crowned ICC World Champions for the first time in history. The entire nation celebrates this landmark victory, which marks a new chapter in the annals of Indian cricket, and especially women’s cricket. To honour this unprecedented success, the BCCI has announced a cash reward of INR 51 crore for the players, support staff and selection committee, in recognition of their remarkable performance, dedication and contribution to the nation’s sporting glory,” the statement from BCCI read.
“Under the astute guidance of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the players, support staff and every stakeholder have delivered an extraordinary performance on the grandest stage, fulfilling the aspirations of millions of fans across the country,” it further added.
Speaking about the match, India Women piled up 298/7 after being asked to bat first, with a top knock of 87 runs by Shafali Verma. Later, they bundled out South Africa Women for 246 runs with a five-wicket haul by Deepti Sharma. While Verma was adjudged Player of the Match, Sharma was awarded Player of the Tournament for finishing as the leading wicket-taker with 22 scalps.
