BCCI will be forming guidelines during its Apex Council on Saturday (14th June).

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to take strict action on the celebrations of the franchises after winning the Indian Premier League (IPL). As per the reports in Cricbuzz, it is learned that the governing body will be forming guidelines for the same during its Apex Council meeting on Saturday (June 14).

This comes in the wake of the Bengaluru stampede case, which happened during the celebrations of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) after winning the IPL 2025. The franchise beat Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final at the Narendra Modi International Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3.

After the win, the RCB flew back to their home and decided to celebrate the win with the fans. They planned a victory parade followed by celebrations at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, but it all turned out to be a tragic event as the case of stampede occurred outside the stadium.

As many as 11 fans lost their lives, while more than 40 were injured as well. After that incident, RCB, along with the BCCI, faced huge criticism from fans for not managing things properly. The police also arrested a few officials of the franchise, and the development has been in the news since then.

BCCI will also finalise the upcoming domestic season and schedule of white-ball series against New Zealand next year

Following that, BCCI is planning to bring ways to regulate trophy celebrations without dampening the spirit of the occasion. Even Secretary Devajit Saikia, after the incident, said that the governing body will be taking action in this regard soon.

During the BCCI’s Apex Council meeting, the governing body will be discussing some other key matters as well. They are expected to finalise the upcoming domestic season and will also be announcing the schedule of next year’s home white-ball series against New Zealand.

India are set to host New Zealand in the three ODIs and five T20Is. Also, BCCI will be conducting the meeting online to discuss all the above-mentioned issues.
