BCCI announces central contracts for Indian Women's Cricket Team; Only 3 named in Grade A

A total of 16 members of Indian Women’s Cricket Team received central contracts from the BCCI.
The Indian women’s cricket team’s yearly player contracts for the 2024–25 season have been formally announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The agreements will go into force on October 1, 2024, and run until September 30, 2025.
The retainership is divided into three categories: Grades A, B, and C. There is a total of 16 women cricketers given central contracts by the BCCI for the 2024-25 season.
As per the last announced annual contract by the BCCI, the women players were awarded Rs 50 lakhs (Grade A), Rs 30 lakhs (Grade B), and Rs 10 lakhs (Grade C).
Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, and Deepti Sharma have kept their spots in Grade A. There is a notable change in the Grade B contracts with the name of Rajeshwari Gayakwad missing from the list. She has not been included in any of the contract lists.
Grade B consists of Renuka Thakur, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, and Richa Ghosh.
9 players offered Grade C contracts; Harleen Deol’s name missing
In a release, the BCCI said, “The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the annual player contracts for Team India (Senior Women) for the 2024-25 season (October 1st, 2024 to September 30th, 2025).”There are nine players in the Grade C contracts, with the big name of Harleen Deol missing. Opening batter Sabbineni Meghana, pacer Meghna Singh, and left-arm pacer Anjali Sarvani were also absent from the new list.
Instead of them, Shreyanka Patil, Titas Sadhu, Amanjot Kaur, and Arundhati Reddy are the new names receiving Grade C contracts.
Other major names in the Grade C list are Yastika Bhatia, Radha Yadav, Uma Chetry, Sneh Rana, and Pooja Vastrakar.
Here is the list of BCCI-contracted Indian women cricketers:
Grade A: Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma
Grade B: Renuka Thakur, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Richa Ghosh
Grade C: Yastika Bhatia, Radha Yadav, Shreyanka Patil, Titas Sadhu, Arundhati Reddy, Amanjot Kaur, Uma Chetry, Sneh Rana, and Pooja Vastrakar.
This is a huge boost to the Indian women’s team players as they prepare for the upcoming ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 that will be hosted by India. Reports have stated that Vishakapatnam, Mullanpur, Indore, Thiruvananthapuram, and Guwahati will host the matches of the Women’s World Cup.
