BCCI announces release of Invitation to Tender for Title Sponsor Rights for Events
BCCI begins tender process for home events sponsorship.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued a press release, announcing invitation of tenders for title sponsors for home events organised by the BCCI.
Currently, IDFC First Bank holds these rights to sponsorship. They secured the deal in September 2023, and their contract tenure is due to end in August 2026. They are the existing title sponsors for all BCCI international and domestic home matches, across formats, and even domestic tournaments like Ranji Trophy.
The Central cricketing authority of the country issued an Invitation to Tender (ITT) inviting entities to bid for the sponsorship rights through a competitive process.
The title sponsorship covers rights for international matches (T20Is, ODIs, and Tests) hosted in India and the domestic tournaments like the Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, Irani Cup, along with the several age-group competitions.
More details regarding the ITT
The ITT document will be made available on payment of a non-refundable fee of Rs 1 lakh, and any applicable GST. Interested parties can purchase the document until August 4, while the deadline for seeking clarifications is August 5. The last date to submit the Bid Documents is August 13.
The BCCI said the tender document, containing the eligibility criteria and terms and conditions governing the bidding process, will be shared only after confirmation of payment of the non-refundable ITT fee.
The Board clarified that merely purchasing the ITT does not automatically guarantee an entity to participate in the bidding process. Only those meeting the eligibility criteria specified in the tender document will be allowed to submit bids.
The successful bidder will enjoy the same rights as the current title sponsor — rights to the domestic and international (all formats) matches, along with domestic tournaments and age-group competitions.
The BCCI also clarified in its press release that it reserves all rights to cancel or amend the ITT process at any stage in any manner without assigning any reason.
BCCI also invites bids for associate partners
The BCCI also issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ), inviting entities to bid for the associate partner rights for its events through a tender process. The associate sponsors in the previous cycle were SBI Life Insurance, Campa Cola, Atomberg Technologies, and Asian Paints.
The RFQ document will be made available on payment of a non-refundable fee of Rs 1 lakh plus applicable GST. Interested parties can purchase the RFQ till August 14, seek clarifications until August 16, and submit the quotation documents before August 25.
The board said the RFQ, containing the eligibility criteria and detailed terms governing the bidding process, will be shared only after confirmation of payment of the non-refundable RFQ fee.
The successful bidder will acquire the associate partner rights for BCCI events, which include home international matches involving the Indian men’s and women’s teams, domestic competitions and age-group tournaments.
