BCCI Review Meeting Live Updates: Rohit Sharma's ODI future, injuries & more

The BCCI review meeting is underway in Mumbai.

After a plethora of criticism over the Indian Cricket Team’s poor performance, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) finally decided to take matters into their own hands. The governing body called a meeting at their headquarters in Mumbai on Thursday, September 3.

The BCCI’s meeting in Mumbai will have a lot of agendas to discuss, as not much has been going India’s way of late. The downfall started after the T20 World Cup 2026 win when the Men in Blue played the series against Ireland.

Under new captain Shreyas Iyer, India lost the series 2-0 against Ireland. Following this, they faced a whitewash against England in a five-match T20I series. If this was not enough, India also lost a three-match ODI series against Three Lions.

In Test cricket too, the woes continued. After India handsomely won the first Test against Sri Lanka, they had a great opportunity to close the series. They looked favourites to win the second match, but the game ended in a draw as they failed to close the game despite enforcing a follow-on.

Apart from the on-field performances, the injuries to key players in recent times will be there to discuss. BCCI’s COE has become an injury management centre, with a lot of first-choice players being there.

Also, there were some reports which claimed that BCCI will be taking the call on Rohit Sharma’s future. The premier batter has been in the news for a while, and it was even reported that India’s third ODI against England at Lord’s will be his last.

However, he hit a century, and all those talks came to an end. But that didn’t end here, as the final call will be taken in a meeting. Moreover, apart from the President and Secretary, BCCI has called up captains Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer along with head coach Gautam Gambhir and head selector Ajit Agarkar.
