Virat Kohli passed the all-important Yo-Yo Test with a level of 17.2, but the BCCI seems unhappy.

Team India will now be seen in action on September 2, when they will be playing against arch-rivals Pakistan in their first game of the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. Before that, the Indian team have set up a camp in Bangalore for preparation, where all the players will gather and do the training. All these preparations will also include the all-important Yo-Yo test.

On Thursday, the former Indian captain Virat Kohli shared on his Instagram that he had passed the Yo-Yo test, which analyzes a player’s aerobic endurance and stamina. Adding to that, he also shared that he completed it at a level of 17.2, which is considered to be pretty good. Notably, the acceptable mark for passing this test is 16.4. Fans were excited to see that Virat was ready for some intense cricket coming up. But it seems that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was not happy.

BCCI issues warning to players after Virat Kohli shares Yo-Yo Test score on Instagram

According to some reports, the Indian board is unhappy with the way Virat Kohli shared the confidential detail on the social media platform, which is the score of passing the Yo-Yo test. The BCCI sent a verbal warning to every Indian player, including the former Indian captain, that there is no need to share such details on social media.

A report from the Indian Express stated, “Players have been informed verbally to avoid posting any confidential matter on social media platforms. They can post pictures while training, but posting a score leads to breach of contract clause,” said a BCCI official. Indian players who are part of the Asia Cup squad are undergoing a special training program at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

Some players joined the camp a couple of days ago, while other players who were part of the Ireland tour will join the team on August 25. Notably, the fitness program has been developed to keep the players safe from injury ahead of the ODI World Cup. The BCCI wants every player to be fit ahead of the marquee event in India. Team India haven’t won an ICC tournament since 2013.
