England test captain Ben Stokes is currently recovering from an adductor injury he sustained in the fifth test of The Ashes 2025-26. Under his captaincy, England gave a humiliating performance against Australia in the five-match test series.

The visitors suffered a 4-1 defeat in the campaign. The Ben Stokes & Co. lost the opening two games by eight wickets each, before losing the third encounter by 82 runs.

They made a strong comeback with a victory in the fourth test by four wickets; however, they faced a setback in the last clash, losing by five wickets to witness a horrible series defeat.

Stokes also struggled to make a mark in the campaign with the bat, smacking 184 runs in 10 innings with a lone half-century in the third test. He got out cheaply multiple times. However, with 15 scalps averaging 25.13, he impressed with his bowling. He also clinched a five-wicket haul in the opening game in Perth.
