Ben Stokes has played only 2 games in the IPL 2023 for Chennai Super Kings.

English all-rounder Ben Stokes is set to fly back home to England after Chennai Super Kings' final league game in the IPL 2023. Stokes has played only two games in the IPL 2023, CSK invested a huge amount in All-rounder Ben Stokes. Keeping Ashes in mind, Stokes has not played a game after an injury scare during their third game. Chennai have almost qualified for the IPL playoffs and will miss Ben Stokes's experience and input from the bench. Chennai Super Kings bought Stokes for 16.25 crores in the IPL 2023 Auction. CSK will take on Delhi Capitals in their last league game at Arun Jaitley Cricket Stadium on 20th May.

Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming had also talked about Ben Stokes's unavailability from the action. Fleming informed that Stokes is being used as batting cover and his bowling is a concern for him. The England and Wales Cricket Board is also feeling a bit of tension as they are going to face upbeat Australians in the Ashes next month. According to a few reports, Stokes will give England’s home season opening test against Ireland a miss. This test is scheduled to start from 1st June. Though, Stokes is hopeful of taking part in the season's first test.

There were many players from England taking part in the league. From Joe Root, Ben Stokes, and Jofra Archer to Mar Wood, and Harry Brook, these names are currently important for England in the test setup. Mark Wood flew back just a week ago due to personal reasons, now as per the reports, Stokes is heading back home to take some time off and be fit for the important Ashes series against Australia.
