Ben Stokes comes up with savage reply after Australian newspaper calls him "Crybaby"

England captain Ben Stokes came up with a savage reply on twitter.

The second Ashes test at The Lord’s saw a controversial end on the Final day. England wicket-keeper Jonny Bairstow’s run-out became the biggest talking point than Australia’s unassailable lead against New England “Bazball” by 2-0 in the Ashes series. English media hit out on the Australian team and termed them as cheat and questioned their ‘spirit of cricket’ after Alex Carey ran Bairstow out within the rules of them when Bairstow after ducking Cameron Green’s one of the bouncers walked straight toward non-striker (Ben Stokes). Seeing an opportunity Carey after collecting it cleanly threw it back on stumps, where Bairstow was short of his crease. Now, a war between England captain Ben Stokes and Australian media has started.

Australian media vs Ben Stokes

The West Australian posted a picture of Ben Stokes in nappies and they captioned it as ‘crybabies’ in the headline. The newspaper also wrote, “Poms take whingeing to a new level with ‘cheating’ drivel". English captain Ben Stokes hitting back replied, “That’s definitely not me, since when did I bowl with the new ball”.

Earlier the English media attacked the Australian team for getting Jonny Bairstow out in a strange fashion. England’s newspaper Daily Express Sports wrote, “Spirit of Cricket reduced to Ashes”. While the reputed Daily Telegraph wrote, “Ashes battle turns toxic”. Bairstow’s wicket became a huge controversy and Australian players faced severe criticism on the field and even in the Lord’s Long Room where MCC Members were sitting.

Australian captain Pat Cummins defended his decision and backed Alex Carey, while England Captain Ben Stokes said he would not have wanted to win a game like this. He also admitted that Bairstow’s wicket was all within the game. Supporting Ben Stokes, England Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has also accused the Australian team of not following the spirit of cricket. Rishi Sunak’s official spokesperson said, “The Prime Minister agrees with Ben Stokes. He said simply wouldn't want to win a game in that manner Australia did”. Australia won the game by 43 runs. The third Ashes test will begin on 6th July at Headingly.
