The Ben Stokes & Co. have lost three matches in a row against Australia in ongoing The Ashes 2025-26.

England Cricket Team have lost The Ashes 2025-26 after facing three straight defeats in three games against the Australian Cricket Team. Despite the series-defeat, England test captain Ben Stokes said that he is committed to leading the national side in the longest format of the game.

Australia outplayed England by 82 runs in the third test at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide to grab the five-match series in their favour. The visitors failed to chase down a 435-run target in the encounter, finishing with 352/10 in the second innings.

Earlier, Australia outplayed England in the first and second tests by eight wickets. Despite the absence of Cummins in the first two games, Australia did a wonderful job of winning the clashes with ease

When Ben Stokes was asked by BBC Sport whether the series defeat would force him to question his leadership, he replied: Nope. Asked if he still has the energy for the job, Stokes said: Absolutely.

The all-rounder also added that it was disappointing for the team not to be able to outplay Australia in the Ashes. He also reckoned that their next focus is to come up with a better show in the remaining two matches.

“Knowing now that we can’t achieve what we set out to do here is obviously very disappointing. It’s a pretty emotional time for me in the dressing room and the guys, players, management, backroom stuff,” he stated.

“We will take a lot of out of this game about how we can maybe apply ourselves to give us a better chance of being a much more consistent cricket team. It moves over into what else we have in front of us,” he further added.

“We still have two games left in the series and a hell of a lot to play for, as individuals and a team. Walking out there and playing for England is a good enough thing in itself. We’re not going to turn around and kick the stumps over because we have so much more to play for in the series,” concluded Stokes.

Meanwhile, the fourth test of the Ashes 2025-26 will start on December 26 at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Melbourne.
