Mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy spun web around South African batsmen in second match of the four-match T20I series between South Africa and India in 2024. While defending a low target of 124, Chakravarthy returned with figures of 5/17, dismissing South Africa’s Reeza Hendricks, Aiden Markram, Marco Jansen, Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller. What makes it more interesting is four of the five wickets were taken bowled. However, his bowling efforts went in vain as Tristan Stubbs with his 47 guided his team to a 3-wicket win.
4. Kuldeep Yadav – 5/17 vs South Africa :
Kuldeep Yadav, marking a triumphant return to Indian squad, showcased his wizardry on the pitch during the T20 International against South Africa in Johannesburg on December 14, 2023.
