For the last few years, Nepal have emerged into the limelight with their brilliant performances in cricket. In September 2025, this Asian country achieved their first-ever T20I series victory against a World Cup-winning nation, defeating the West Indies 2-1 in a three-match series.

The series took place at a neutral venue at Sharjah Cricket Stadium in the UAE. Nepal, led by Rohit Paudel, won the first two games by 19 runs and 90 runs respectively to stun the Caribbean side.

West Indies bounced back with a 10-wicket victory in the last game; however, they failed to showcase their dominance in the first two matches.

West Indies toured Pakistan for a white-ball series in July and August, where both sides squared off in three T20Is and an equal number of ODIs.

Winning the T20I series 2-1, Pakistan displayed their dominance against the visitors. However, the Men in Green could not replicate their form in the ODI series, with Shai Hope & Co. crushing them 2-1.

The Caribbean team lost the opening game by five wickets but made stunning comebacks in the next two matches, winning by five wickets and 202 runs respectively. Notably, the West Indies won a bilateral ODI series against Pakistan after 34 years, having last won in 1991.

England made great efforts to give Australia tough competition in the Ashes 2025-26. Ben Stokes & Co. established a powerful squad to dominate the hosts. However, they completely flopped with their performance at the start, losing the first three games in a row.

Despite being short of captain Pat Cummins in the first two games, Australia outplayed the visitors by eight wickets like a walk in the park under Steve Smith’s leadership. Later, Pat Cummins returned to propel the team to victory by 82 runs in the third game and retain the Ashes.

With this victory, Australia gave the global cricket community a glimpse of their dominance in Test cricket on home soil.

Australia’s franchise T20 cricket tournament, The Big Bash League (BBL), is among the most entertaining domestic leagues. Since the tournament takes place in batting-friendly Australian grounds, many matches often observe big totals.

In BBL 2025-26, Brisbane Heat registered a record chase against Perth Scorchers at The Gabba, Brisbane. They chased down a 258-run target by eight wickets, with impeccable centuries by Jack Wildermuth and Matt Renshaw.

Notably, it was the highest-ever successful chase in the BBL history, and the second-highest team total ever recorded in the league.
