The BGT 2024-25 is levelled at 1-1 after the first two tests.

The third test of the ongoing BGT 2024-25 got underway on Saturday morning at the iconic Gabba in Brisbane. The toss coin fell in favour of India captain Rohit Sharma, who elected to bowl first under overcast conditions.

India headed into this game with a couple of changes from their XI that took the field in Adelaide, where they received a 10-wicket drubbing as Australia bounced back to level the series.

In Adelaide, Mitchell Starc, Travis Head and Pat Cummins played the starring role for the hosts in their series-levelling victory.

BGT 2024-25: What are the 2 changes India made to their playing XI for third test at Gabba, Brisbane?

India dropped Harshit Rana and R Ashwin and replaced them with Akash Deep and Ravindra Jadeja. Rana’s exclusion was expected as he’d leaked 86 runs in 16 overs in Adelaide with Head going on a rampage.

Ashwin didn’t have too bad a game. He returned with figures of 1/53 and scored 29 runs overall. But with India needing an extra batting cushion, they went with Jadeja.

The hosts also had one change to their XI: Josh Hazlewood replaced Scott Boland. Hazlewood missed the Adelaide test due to a side strain. Even though Boland was impressive in the second test, picking up 5/105 in the match, once Hazlewood was fit, he walked in the line-up.
